An Introduction to Nature Assisted Therapy: Theory and Applications- 3CE

In this presentation I will provide an introduction to nature-assisted therapy including an overview of evidence supporting the use of nature as a co-therapist, nature-based interventions, mindfulness in nature, and important client and ethical considerations. I will discuss human connection to nature from an evolutionary perspective and delve into the impacts of nature exposure on emotion regulation and neurophysiology. The applications of nature-assisted therapy are broad: I will discuss the evidence supporting utility of nature-assisted therapy among a wide range of clinical populations.

Intended Audience: Mental health care practitioners, educators, and nature enthusiasts who are interested in learning about nature-assisted therapy.
